How to remove a frivolous mechanics lien off of my title report after the 90 days has passed in California

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

Contractor did a gut renovation of my apartment and did incorrect work, broke huge slabs or marble and delayed the original time the job was supposed to take from three months to 10 months. He was paid in full and after a month of completing the job told me I owe him 1800.00, which I did not...I advised him I had paid in full and did not owe anything and left it at that. A month passed and I get notice he filed a mechanics lien for $10250 on my property. Next week is 90 days since he recorded the mechanics lien...How hard would it be with the current pandemic and a lot of places being closed, not sure how government buildings are operating, to file a lien cancellation and get the proper paper work to show my title report has been cleared of the lien?

If the contractor does not sue to foreclose on the lien, you may need to file suit to have the lien removed. Courts throughout California are largely closed. However, they are still taking filings. Most hearings are pushed back to June 2020. So, I suspect it will take some time to remove the lien.
