how to hold the builder accountable for pore performance work and defects

Hi there we are in the process of building. We have came across issue after issues with the workmanship quality throughout and are in need of some expert advice as to what we can do and hold them accountable for.. The drywall quality tile shower trim work and more .. please help

You need to notify the builder about the defects and provide a list of noncomforming work. Put the builder on notice that it needs to be corrected within a specific time. If the builder fails to do so, then you can then consider additional remedies, including termination of the contract with the builder.

What is the basis for your belief that the work is defective? You will need an independent expert who can support the contention that the builder failed to perform in a workmanlike manner.

The first thing to do is review your contract. See if the contract spells out a procedure to address disputes. Otherwise, your best and least expensive remedy would be to get an opinion from another contractor. Have the second contractor prepare a written list of defects or unfinshed items. Present that list to your contractor and request that he address them.
