Michigan Notices of Furnishing are either delivered personally or sent by certified mail, return receipt requested. So, the notices are generally "sent" and not "filed". Luckily, the Michigan mechanics lien statute has a copy of a form which should be used for a Notice of Furnishing baked right into § 570.1109 of the state's lien statute. Further, Levelset has a free, downloadable version here: Michigan Notice of Furnishing Form.
