How to enforce a mechanics lien

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

I'd like to know if I can pursue a mechanics lien though this system and what would be the next step to do that.

To foreclose on a mechanic's lien, you need to file a lawsuit. If the lien claimant is a corporation, you'll need a lawyer to do that. If the lien claimant is an individual, you can file a lawsuit without a lawyer, though I don't recommend that you do that. Good luck.

The next step after filing a lien is filing a lawsuit to foreclose the lien within 90 days of the lien recording date. Otherwise the lien will expire. You can also file a 2nd lien when the first lien expires if the lien window is still open. You will most likely need an attorney to prepare the lawsuit for you. I’m happy to answer any questions you have about this.
