I got my whole roof replaced by claiming home insurance. After finishing, I paid off by using payment from insurance company. However, the contractor filed suprementary cost, than the insurance company paid 3,200. I paid exact amount money to the contractor, but the roofer said they requested 4200, so I owe 1000 to them. Even they threatened like they would file a lien with deductible that I already fully paid off as well. Also, I have their signature of paid off. Even the date of completion was Dec 15 2021, they sent a depreciation release email to me and Insurance company Dec 16 2021 that indicates deadline over for residential lien. But I'm very annoyed and thinking about their fraudulant filing. I know fraudulent filing can cause up to 10,000 dollars. Can I report that to police or any departments in order to make them punished. So bad contractor. I have all email and text evidences with signed payment.
