The Department of Industrial Regulations sets the general prevailing wage determinations in California. These can be searched according to county on their website. The most current wage determinations for Los Angeles County can be found here. Which, for sheet metal workers, appears to be around $35-$45 an hour depending on a few different circumstances. If the wage determination has expired, it will typically be updated with new rates within 10 days or so. If not, or for any other questions, you can contact the office directly by emailing Statistics@dir.ca.gov with you and your company's information, the bid advertisement date, the trade/craft classification, and the county where the project is located.
