How I got sued by other subcontractor on the job I put Lein on?

IllinoisMechanics Lien

I was subcontractor on one job (fire sprinklers), didn't get paid, filed Lien via Levelset last year. Now I just got alias summons (no clue what is means) as one of the three defendants ( first is the owner, second is the lender) by another subcontractor (paving company) working on the same job. Other company filed Lien in January. They are saying that our oral contract is "alleged" (proposal was written and we got oral consent to start with the job), that our interests are subordinate and inferior to theirs. What should I do?

The Alias Summons is a Second Summons which means that the original summons that was issued was not able to be served on you/your company. You should retain counsel to protect your interests, which includes perfecting your claim by filing suit if not already done. It would be best for you to speak with an attorney whose practice is concentrated in construction law and lien issues.
