how do i prevent having to move before a reasonable amount time to find a new place?

I filed a complaint to dept of labor and immediately after the inspector left i was call into office, terminated and told i was to move out. Was even told that it was becausei call. My rent a the motel is a part of my pay. I havent paid rent for lodging since the first 3 weeks of y employment.

Generally, it's illegal for an employer to fire an employee for making a wage and hour complaint. So, if an employer has terminated you because you made such a complaint, a wrongful termination action may be on the table. For the most clarity, though, it'd be wise to consult with a local Oklahoma labor lawyer. They'll have more experience with situations like this one, and they'll be better versed in how to respond to a wrongful termination if one has occurred here. As for how to avoid having to move - it's tough to say. But, it might be possible to negotiate a longer stay or to push a former employer to pay for amounts they were already responsible for.
