How do i get compensation for my work.

Washington

I would like to know what your thoughts are on my matter at hand in which i was promised a property to be sold go me that was in need of many things such as renovation. I have put in roughly 6 months of renovation and other property improvement work by myself with no help. The owner offered to sell the house to me if i got rid of the other people that were terrorizing the neighborhood and could afford the down payment of 30 to 40 grand and 845 a month rent to own for 5 years or 80 grand up front. The owner was in danger of having the house taken by the city of Spokane for being a chronic nuisance. I had secured the property with the fences i built and the security system i instslled along with the power outside and inside the house. I have installed and repaired the masonry work on the property such as with preparing walkways and steps in resurfacing the basement masonry floor and walls. I have installed new electrical lines throughout the property and upgraded the existing electrical system for power outlets and lighting. I remodeled the house installed new floors and restored the original hardwood floors and patched up holes and painted the inside and outside of the house and the house for water damage caused by others and you fix plumbing damaged by other people and began the process of putting in an egress in to the basement. Now that all the work is nearly complete and i have had the means to purchase the house at the agreed upon price. The owner asked for 125 grand and acted like the previous agreement was never made. I then told her i could still purchase the house at 125 grand and have been waiting for the paperwork. Now she wants upwards of 200 grand and even though i was promised payment if the house was not sold to me in a text message a while back. I asked to be compensated multiple times and am now being ignored. Apparently, it turns out that she had been trying to get the work i did done for years and now plans on selling the house soon while she can make a big profit off of the work i did.

First, did you have anything in writing? Second, if she refuses to sell the house to you, then you can lien the property for the work done if you are within 90 days of the last day of doing work. A lien will put a crimp in her attempt to sell to someone else.
