The easiest way to obtain a Florida GC license as someone who does not reside there would likely be to find someone to act as the business' qualifying agent in Florida. Certainly, a company can't just rent a license from a local FL contractor. But, if a licensed Florida contractor has a supervisory role on projects done in Florida, then the company will be considered licensed. In fact, Florida GC licenses aren't given to companies at all - but rather individuals are licensed and those individuals qualify the organizations they work for as "licensed." We've discussed a similar situation before on the Expert Center: How do I get around this issue? | FL Licensing.
Of course, a contractor could always have a member of their business obtain a Florida license, as well. Though, having limited experience performing construction work in the United States could pose an issue.
