How can I file a lein

So I’m in Texas I didn’t really know about Leon’s never had to do in 10 years on business but if I didn’t send a preliminary Lein notice how would I go about enforcing payment.. or do I chalk it up as a loss and learning experience moving forward

There are many unanswered issues in your question. It will matter if this is a residential or commercial project. A constitutional lien might be an option. If it is a commercial project, there might be ways to pressure the contractor by informing the owner that the contractor has failed to make payment.
