Hi. My GC agreed to build my house for $400k. That was all I had and did not want a mortgage. We did not sign any contract. I live in SC. Now we are $100k+ over budget and some subcontractors are not paid and they are placing liens on my property. I have no more money and I still do not have a certificate of occupancy. I do not know what I can do to protect my property. Can you advise me?
