hello. I live in the state of Florida and I have been waiting for a year and a half for a payment of an invoice for a job I do in Cape Coral County. Every time I contact the contractor, he always tells me that he has not received payment for that job. what can i do? Thank you.

Generally, analysis of payment options on a private project considers (1) your contract rights - what does your contract state regarding the timing of payment (2) your state law statutory rights to recover payment, and (3) common law rights in law or equity regarding payment for the reasonable value of accepted labor, materials, and services.
