It's possible for a mechanics lien claimant to pursue a lien claim even if there's a dispute over their workmanship. Levelset discusses that here: Can I File A Lien If My Workmanship Is In Dispute? With that being said, if the work is seriously deficient, it's possible that an owner could successfully challenge the filed lien based on the defective work. If a lien has been filed on your property this article should be useful: A Mechanics Lien Was Filed on My Property – What Do I Do Now? Additionally, consulting with a local construction attorney should be useful when combatting a claim against your property. Here's a good place to start that search: Find a Indiana Construction Lawyer.
