Georgia to Florida Hvac reciprosity

Florida

Hello Gentlemen, Since 1991 I have been an active Georgia Class I Hvac contractor in good standing. I'm looking to move to Pensacola. 1) Do I have to be an established Florida resident to start the licensing process? 2) May I have a Florida Hvac license issued to me without a Hvac business entity established prior? Thank You, John

You do not have to be an established Florida resident to start the licensing process. You absolutely could obtain a Florida HVAC license based on your current Georgia license. I've helped about 20 out-of-state contractors obtain licenses so far this year. You should also check out https://hammerngavel.com/licensing-for-nonflorida-contractors for more information on the new 10 year rule and out of state licensing requirements for Florida.
