I am a subcontractor that was working on a project where the General Contractor is in lawsuit with the owner for non payment. What can I do
If you have been paid in full, there is probably nothing you need to do. If you are waiting for payment, you should call an attorney to ask if you should be included in the lawsuit. Your contract with the general may specify payment dependent on owner pay, or there may be an obligation for your general to pay you regardless. Either way, if you are served with any type of legal paperwork (as a party or a witness) be sure to accept the service and review the paperwork diligently/call an attorney for assistance right away.
