I have a client that refused to pay the billing after I delivered all job materials due to their claim of unsatisfactory workmanship. Work done was done well within and above the standards expected. However, I did not file a peliminary notice when I took the order for the job. when does the preliminary get filed? before i deliver the materials? I thought it was after I delivered services and upon billing? How does this affect filing a lien and my collection efforts? I do have a contract for materials and collection costs signed by the client.
