Filing a lien on a home that contractor did not pay

MassachusettsMechanics Lien

Hello, We are trying to get more info about the process of filing a lien on a home. We are a subcontractor that was hired by a contractor to do work on a home. The contractor has been paid in full by the homeowner but the contractor has not paid us. He was past 180 days over due. When we file a lien do we need to put the homeowners name or contractor? A few things to add: When we started the project we did NOT have the contractor sign any agreement (mistake on our part I know) We do have proof of the work completed such as pictures, texts , and emails. The GC has stated he was paid in full so we know that.

Homeowners name is more important, technicallyyou must have a written contract for anything but a laborers lien, but sometimes the court will consider the texts etc and say that it is a written contract
