File a lien or send some other letter?

We have a project completed last July in Alabama. Our client was not able to obtain payment from the actual owner and suggested that I reach out. I emailed and mailed a few letters to the homeowner but no response as of today . What is the best course of action at this time? Should we file a mechanic's lien on the property? Is there a letter that we can send out?

If you finished your work last July, it is too late to file a lien. You can, however attempt to collect from the contractor and/or owner who hired you via a suit. Glad to discuss it if you wish.
