Do you represent Canadian based company that do business in the USA

TexasMechanics Lien

I'm a door manufactured based out of Canada. I supplied a large amount of product to a US contractor. I'm having trouble getting paid and would like to file a mechanics lien.

I would suggest contacting a Texas lawyer immediately. Texas law is very strict with regard to lien filing notices/deadlines. Levelset can help in that regard and you should certainly do everything in your power to preserve your lien rights, but if you are looking to pursue this Texas contractor for payment, you will need the services of a Texas attorney.

I have no idea how the Canadian system works, but liens in Texas, if valid, must be foreclosed upon by filing a lawsuit in the county where the project is located. Critically, even if you do not have lien rights for any reason, you still may have a breach of contract or other causes of action available to you, meaning regardless of your lien posistion it would be best to get a Texas attorney on this case as soon as possible. Additonally, attorney's fees incurred are recoverable in Texas. That makes a big difference to most foreign operations in deciding which claims to attempt to collect on.

I'd be happy to discuss this matter further with you directly.
