Do we need to revise our lien if the Notice of Commencement added a general contractor?

Florida

We are a subcontractor in Florida with a direct contract with the owner who was also the original general contractor. The original Notice of Commencement did not have a general contractor listed. We filed a Mechanic's Lien on the owner for not paying, listing the correct owner that we are contracted with and stating that the owner is also the "hiring party". After our lien was filed, the owner filed another Notice of Commencement listing a general contractor. We do not have a contract with the new general contractor. Do we need to revise our lien?

Based on what you have stated a revision to your lien is not required. Since you have not been paid you should consult with a lawyer where the property is located. There are time limitations on the enforcement of a lien.
