We are a roofing company and we placed a lien on a customer's home for not paying the balance on their roof replacement. The lien has been filed, just not enforced. They are trying to sell their home and the closing is set for July. We were contacted by the title company and asked to give a payoff amount since they obviously can't sell without settling their debt with us. My question is do we need to do anything to keep the lien filed with the county/state (is there an annual reinstatement necessary to keep it active)? We are in the state of Georgia. The lien was filed in June 2021 and they are supposed to close in July 2022. I just want to make sure there is no lapse in the filing and the lien does not expire.
