We are a metal roofing manufacturer out of Indiana. We wish to sell our materials to contractors in FL for them to install, do we need a business license for that? We would also be interested in creating a show room so people could see our products in person and not just on the website. Nothing would be sold at show room it would just be a way for people to see what we offer in person. We have been in business for 30 years in Indiana and wondered if FL offered a reciprocity rule where we could get license easier/quicker.
You don’t need a state contractor’s license, but your product needs certification from the Florida Building Commission. And you’re going to need either notice to owner forms to do yourself or a good service.
