Do we have to supply original “wet” signed lien waivers in order to receive payment?

Indiana

I work as subcontractor on a commercial job in the state of Indiana but the GC is in Illinois. They are requiring us to submit unconditional Chicago Title waivers in triplicate originals before releasing payment. Not only that but they are also requiring our supplier to provide original triplicates but will accept them using our standard company waiver template which is not state specific. Is there a legal statute that says a subcontractor and/or their suppliers must provide original documents to the GC in order to receive the payment that is due?

Please give my office a call 260-782-1712 for more facts on this matter. This sounds like it is likely goverened by your sub agreement, if there is one.
