Does filing a mechnics lien ensure payment is made fast? The client is selling the home .
We finished a remodel job and the client isnt paying us .

In response to your question, the filing of a mechanics/materialman lien is a very effective tool at getting paid quickly if the home is fixing to be sold. The lien needs to be filed asap so that it is recorded in probate BEFORE the home is sold so that it will be picked up on a title search.
