Do I have to pay prevailing wages to an employee if they are in trianing?

CaliforniaPrevailing Wages

I have a technician on a Prevailing wage job, with a senior technician that was just hired and is in training?

If an employee is providing work on a prevailing wage job, that employee must generally be paid the prevailing wage for their work. So, even if an employee happens to be training on a prevailing wage site, it'd be wise to make sure they're paid the prevailing wage. I'll admit that I don't have personal experience working on California prevailing wage issues, though - so it might be a good idea to reach out to a California construction attorney for more clarity there. Additionally, if you have questions about complying with the state's prevailing wage requirements, services like eBacon and Contractors Prevailing Wage might be able to help.
