ARS § 33-992.01 sets out Arizona's rules on preliminary notices. Very generally: In Arizona, all contractors, subs, suppliers, and others working on the project must send preliminary notices within 20 days of starting work. The statute provides a statutory form for that notice and also prescribes who must receive the notice, how it must be sent, etc. For a simple translation of those rules, these three resources should provide a lot of value: (1) Arizona Preliminary Notice Guide and FAQs; (2) Ultimate Guide to Arizona’s 20-Day Preliminary Notice; and (3) Arizona’s 30% Preliminary Notice Rule.
