Contractor's License

ArizonaLicenses

Good Morning. The business I work for is opening a bonafide office in Yuma, AZ. We participate in the SBA 8(a) program. Will we need a contractor's business license?

If you are a contractor or subcontractor performing work that alters/repairs/improves real property or buildings, then you need to have a contractor's license issued by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. If you are not licensed, you will not have the right to sue to collect for work when you are not paid, you will not have mechanic's lien rights, and you may be exposed to criminal penalties.
