Coming up on 1 year since lien was filed, whats next

Florida

Filed a lien after failing to be paid, we are fast approaching the 1 year mark, what is the next step?

If you don't file suit to foreclose the lien before the anniversary date the lien will expire as a matter of law. It cannot be revived and you will have no security for payment. Contact a lawyer immediately.

Is the suite to foreclose expensive? If my claim of lien is $1600 is it worth it?

Talk to an attorney about it. Even though it is a small claims case the prevailing party will recover its attorney's fees. Sometimes lawyers will take cases for a minimum fee paid in advance or the amount awarded by the court, whichever is greatest.

You need to file a lawsuit to foreclose on the lien before one year runs out. I suggest you not wait till the last day and call a lawyer asap. Drafting a lien foreclosure complaint is not a ten minute exercise
