Client is refusing to pay without my signing of a mechanics lien waiver

FloridaLien Waivers

I completed work for a client over 2 months ago. One month ago I inquired about my payment and was told that it would be taken care of. I waited another month and now they are asking for a signed lien waiver and the first one they sent was unconditional what do I do?

You can be required to sign a waiver and release of lien upon final payment. You should not give it without simultaneously receiving payment. Remember that you have 90 days from completing work, not including punch-out or trivial work, to file a lien. If not filed within that time period you have no lien rights.
