Claim for wrongful termination

VirginiaConstruction ContractMechanics Lien

My residential construction agreement in VA was canceled by the client for what I believe to be no cause. I did not have a contractors license when the agreement or when two separate financial draws were givin to me ($23k & $76k). It was understood that I was working on getting the license and have gotten it . Am I entitled to legally recover the $254,000 in lost income form wrongfully being terminated? At least one court has held that a contract entered into when the contractor was unlicensed is void and unenforceable, even if the contractor subsequently obtained a license.
