A lien was filed 5 months ago and we now have received the payment, but my VP is requesting that I ask te customer to pay the cost to release the lien. Is that legal to ask them to pay?
Sure. But the cost is typically not all that significant. But asking may make the customer more receptive to paying on time the next time. But, it may antagonize the customer, and you may lose the customer as a customer. But if the customer is a slow pay, then maybe you don't want that customer as a customer. Good luck.
