Can you amend a preliminary notice in California?

CaliforniaMechanics LienPreliminary Notice

Is there any way to amend a preliminary lien notice in California? Or do you just have to refile?

Preliminary notice only needs to be sent once per contract. If you are doing new work with a new contract you should send new preliminary notice. But change orders do not require amendment to preliminary notice in California.
