Can we file a lien if we did not send a preliminary notice? If not, what are our options?

CaliforniaLien WaiversPreliminary Notice

Hello, I work for a flooring contractor and I need some help with a situation we are in. We completed a job back in July and have yet to be paid for the work we performed. Since we did not send a preliminary notice in the beginning of the project, are we unable to file a lien? If not, what are our other options to receive payment?

There is a good chance you have no lien rights against the property owner. But, you could have breach of contract rights against the flooring contractor that hired you. A construction lawyer can walk you through your rights and remedies.
