My neighbor hired a dozer operator to clear fence rows 8 years ago. The owner said dozer transmission went out, and left it there 8 years ago. My neighbor contacted him several times to come and get it he never showed back up. I went and messed with it and have it running now and before I start dumping money into it to fix it up. I am curious if there are any steps or what I need to do so I don’t lose my time and money invested. Or am I ok to claim the dozer since my neighbor gave me permission to remove it after it sat for 8 years.
You might try to do a Title 42 action on it and take it for unpaid storage fees. It's not reasonable to leave it there for 8 years. Talk to a local attorney about the details.
