We live in Montana Our general contractor is in breach of contract for a multitude of reasons. Did not ensure installation according to Mfg specs. Did not install materials agreed upon being 2 of many examples. We emailed a notice of breach and cease and desist. We have started hiring contractors to fix things done (and destroyed) wrong and finish the project. He has filed a notice to file a mechanics lien. How should I respond? He is also filing under a company name that we did not contract with. He also has monies included in the lien notice that are not labor or materials. This was a cost plus contract and he has not been able to clearly document his costs.
