Can my company act as a Project Manager for construction work and hire contractors without supervising the work?

Florida
Anonymous Contractor

similar to the question you answered in this link: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/question/gc-licence/#post-122851 My company is a Project Management company specializing in connecting LED sign manufacturers with local contractors for installation purposes. We are not a GC nor do we intend to pull permits, perform work, or supervise the work. We simply identify, vet, and select a sign installation contractor (with a FL license) to perform the work for the customer. The customer pays our company directly and we then pay the sign installer. The contractor would apply and pay for permit, provide their own COI, bond, etc. What steps would need to be taken in order for this type of situation to be compliant in Florida? Thank you

You would need to have the appropriate license to actually do the work. In Florida, contracting includes advertising, selling, and entering into agreements for work, even if you are going to subcontractor it out to someone else. So you would need to have the license to do that.
