Can I put a lien on a client's yacht who has not paid us for work completed?

CaliforniaCollectionsMechanics Lien

hello, we completed a flooring job on a client's yacht a year ago and have yet to be paid even after numerous attempts at collecting. I was thinking of putting a lien on the yacht. Is this a means of my company obtaining payment or is a lien not the correct path?

This is more of a maritime law question even thouhg it involves construction. I can refer you to some people that handle this type of work.

Reach out to ECE@Manningllp.com

Her name is Emily Edwards. She does some maritime law in addition to her normal practice areas. You can CC me on it at SRD@Manningllp.com and I’ll get everyone acquainted. Simply out of being a boat owner and big time boat enthusiast—I’m curious!
