Our contractor hired a subcontractor to do the electrical work on our home under construction. The contractor then sent me a bill for the work. I paid the contractor (I have the bill and the cancelled check) in full for the work. The contractor then only paid the subcontractor half of what was owed. Now the subcontractor wants to put a lien on my property instead of going after the contractor. Do I have any recourse?
