Generally speaking, Washington claimants who perform work on common elements of a condominium, rather than work against individual units, are able to file a lien against that property as a whole without having to file separate liens for each unit. But, when Washington claimants have performed work on individual units, their lien claims must be tied to the units where work was done.

This issue is actually discussed briefly on Levelset's Washington Mechanics Lien FAQs page: Can I file a Washington mechanics lien on a condominium project?
