Can I legally be represented without issue?

Virginia

I’m a Class a Residential Building Contractor who was introduced into a new build situation after it had already been planned for and contracted with the Project Manager and the Owners/Clients. They fired the project manager and are pursuing embezzlement charges against said Project Management. The client and my company started working directly. I’ve been trying to put this process in some sort of contract for months and the clients keep sending it back requiring adjustments all while new construction has been ongoing. I have asked for a second draw during the framing process, and the client has been overstepping boundaries with my subs and myself while making accusations. We now have no contract, I have completed a good bit of work, and the clients as of yesterday do not want me on their property and to continue work. They also now want my company to pay cost that they gave a deadline for the Project Management Company to pay(before criminal charges were to be pressed)because they are ones at fault(in my eyes). I’ve stopped communication with the owners. I I am looking to hire legal representation for my company and figure out the next best moves for me to resolve all of this

If you are trying to hire an attorney to represent you, you may want to consider reaching out to a licensed attorney in your state directly at their office. This forum is public, so it may not be the right place to discuss a sensitive legal issue. Levelset provides a list of attorneys in each state here: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/experts-by-state/ . From that directory you may find a law firm in your area to call privately.

Oral contracts are enforceable in Virginia. You may also have mechanic’s lien rights.
