Can I file mechanics lien? What should I do?

I was working for a contractor on a remodeling job for a very wealthy client the contractor had. The contractor owns his own business that he just started I was being paid under table but have texts and proof of employment as well as written and pictures of hours and money owed also have texts of the co tractor acknowledging all of it as well as refusal to pay me

If you are a licensed contractor and provided the owner with a pre-claim notice you can file a lien or just sue for the balance due.

You can most likely file both a labor lien on the property you worked on, and due the contractor.
