Can I file lien on property for work rendered for a tenant

TexasNotice of Intent to Lien

We are an architect and interior design firm and wonder if we can still file lien against the client on nonpayment for design work for a lease space. The client may have a share of ownership on the property, but we are uncertain. Assuming they do not, can we still proceed with lien filing?

Thank you for reaching out. Here is a Levelset article that may address your question: https://www.levelset.com/blog/what-happens-to-mechanics-lien-rights-if-my-project-is-a-tenant-improvement/. I hope you find your answer there, if not, you may visit our attorney directory page for Texas to find an attorney’s office in your area.
