Can i file lien for a landscaping job that i was unpaid for?

GeorgiaMechanics Lien

*Note: In the state of Georgia* 1. If I performed work unlicensed, and later (After the project) acquired my license, would I still bare no claim to compensation? 2. Does general landscaping work require a license? Is it considered the same as "contractor?" 3. If Georgia courts do not give rights of compensation, to an unlicensed contractor, for a project that requires a license, how can you find out if the project required a license? Are there specific guidelines or is it general case-by-case?

Thank you for reaching out. If the Georgia lien guidelines and requirements are still unclear after reading the articles supplied by Levelset on GA lien law and liscensing, you may want to consider calling a local attorney. Especially if you are seeking specific advice for a current legal situation. This forum is public, so it may not be the right place to discuss a sensitive legal issue. Levelset provides a list of attorneys in each state here: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/experts-by-state/ . From that directory you may find a law firm in your area to call privately.
