I am contractor working on a residential project I finish my work on the job six months ago but I haven't gotten paid and my customer isn't returning my calls what's should I do.

The law requires that a construction lien must be filed within 90 days of finishing work. It appears that you have no lien rights. You do have the right to bring legal action on the unpaid debt. You should consult with a lawyer about this.
