Can I file a mechanics lien on a project I worked on?

I work for a subcontractor on a construction site. I quit and they won't pay me my final paycheck. Can I file a lien on the project?

Yes. Civil Code Section 8400(e) says, in pertinent part: "A person that provides work authorized for a work of improvement, including, but not limited to, the following persons, has a lien right under this chapter: ... (e) Laborer. ...." Levelset should be able to help with the lien. Good luck.
