Can I file a mechanics lien if my "Notice of written contract" has expired

Massachusetts

I am a small contractor. Completed a garage / master bedroom addition on a private residence. Did not get change orders only verbal agreements to do more work. Customer is refusing to pay a portion of the extras based on back charges on for punch list items they decided to complete themselves without informing me.

It depends on the last time you worked at the job. Your notice of contract may not have "expired." Please feel free to give me a call. Last day I worked on the job was June 24th when I got the final inspection from the building department.
