Can I File A Mechanics lien?

North CarolinaMechanics Lien

Can I file a mechanical lien if I did not send a preliminary 15 day after the materials and labor started. I moved from miami to do a project with some family members, one of them being my father who has two other siblings. The estate holder was my grandfather who passed away and deeded the land over to his three sons. Two of which wanted nothing much to with the land other then sell it. A deal was out in place between my father who worked it with his brothers as they were to be splitting up the estate. A verbal agreement was made in which I was suppose to purchase the property and cash them out. In the mean time I also agreed to move from my home in miami and come up and manage the property as the project begins. I ended up doing all the work my self and spending my personal money in materials labor meeting with the county and pulling permits. Long story short as the brother were dealing probate we were not able to close. As time went on as spending my personal money on the project. And doing the labor my self they decided they were not going to inform me and list the property now as I found out when a realtor told me that the brothers told her I was living here with kids in school and I knew that they listed it. Which I did not because no one had returned or picked up my calls. Would like to know what options I have here in this?
