I have a company that cleans tile and grout. I did a job for a customer. She claims that I damaged her baseboards in her house. I directed her to my insurance. They informed me that it would be easier to pay the small claim then to fight it. They paid her claim $2551.00. She claims it costs her more than that to do repairs. She now tells me she won’t pay me the $620.00 she owes for the tile I cleaned.
As Attorney Brophy correctly noted, you may want to sue in small claims if you want to take that time and money.
You can file a lien as well provided you served the required preliminary notice not later than 20 days after your first contribution of labor, materials, services, so on.
