Can I file a mechanics lien?

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

I am a material supplier and I Do Preliminary notices for jobs. I did not get a copy of a recorded notice of completion. Can I still file a mechanics lien if it is over the 30 days of notice of completion?

Possibly, if it a private works project. If the owner of a private works project (except for an owner occupied personal residence of four or less residential units) fails to give, within 10 days of recording, a copy of the Notice of Completion or Notice of Cessation to a claimant that gave a Preliminary Notice, the claimant shall have 90 days from completion to record its Mechanic’s Lien or give a Stop Payment Notice. (Civil Code § 8190(c).) So, it may be case that you have more than 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion to record your lien. Good luck.
